As part of its 2010-11 season, The National Ballet of Canada is set to perform a contemporary ballet that features music by The White Stripes interpreted by an orchestra. Chroma by English choreographer Wayne McGregor debuted at London's Royal Opera House in 2006 and will now be performed in Toronto in November.

Experimental trio Growing have released the first of six video vignettes that highlights tracks from their forthcoming album PUMPS, to be released on April 6th. The Brooklyn based band comprised of Joe DeNardo, Kevin Doria and new member Sadie Laska, debuted the videos for "Drone Burger" and "Hormone".

The Heavy have been around for over a decade but only recently found a significant international audience. They're sound is substantially influenced by American rock, blues and soul. The band recently released their second album, The House That Dirt Built and tell CMJ's Rev. Moose about their appropriately gritty recording style.

This morning in new music news; Gaslight Anthem announce their follow up to The 59 Sound, Joan Baez has been added to the long list of performers set to play the White House and Frances Bean Cobain will make her debut along side Amanda Palmer.

Basia Bulat came into the AUX Weekly studios to talk about her new album, Heart of My Own. The album was recorded entirely off the floor onto analog tape and written while Basia was on tour.
