Five pairs of tickets are up for grabs to see one of Canada’s premier talents and rock music’s greatest influences, Rush. They’ve released several gold and platinum selling studio albums and rank third among bands to consecutively do so behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Rush’s career spans over 40 years and starting next month they’ll be touring North America. The band have two scheduled Toronto dates at the Molson Amphitheatre on July 13 and at the Air Canada Centre on July 17. They will also play in Sarnia and Quebec City.
This month Alliance released a documentary about the band entitled RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage. Directed by Scot McFayden and Sam Dunn, who have previously worked together on the metal docs Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey and Global Metal, the film features interviews with some of the most respected rock artists of today as well as never-before-seen-archival footage of the band spanning their entire career.
Debuting at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, the doc only appeared in theatres for a limited time, however the DVD will be in-stones June 29 to coincide with the start of their North American tour. Five copies of this piece of Canadian music history are also up for grabs.
