According to lead vocalist Julian Casablancas, The Strokes have finally finished making their long overdue album following 2006′s First Impression of Earth. Strokes fans can now breathe as numerous delays and statements made by the members in the past, which seemed to contradict one another, made the chances of the whole project being squashed seem likely.
We have the trusty Twitter to thank for the news as Casablancas posted this earlier this morning, “Still not going to be out for a few months – mixing, etc,” he wrote. “But just finally finished it, yesterday actually.”
This past summer The Strokes reunited, in the name of money apparently, for a few gigs down south and overseas, however during these shows the band stuck with older material. The new album, currently untitled, will be their fourth studio LP and will be either cherished by those gasping for more dirty rock ‘n roll from the New York quintet or cannon fodder for those who’ve always dismissed them. Be patient.
