This month Braids will drop their self-recorded, self-produced debut LP Native Speaker, as well as embark on a tour of North America in support of it.

The quartet will release the LP via Flemish Eye, making them the first artist based outside of Calgary, Alberta to have put out a record on the label. The album is currently available for pre-order and comes with a poster of the artwork from the label’s website.

Back in November the band gave away a free download of the track “Lemonade” from the 7-track LP, saying it “gently nudges and softly beckons the listener into an expansive, feathery space.” Native Speaker is also currently available to listen to in its entirety on Soundcloud.

Braids’ Canadian Tour Dates:

January 20 – Sala Rossa – Montreal

January 21 – Mavericks – Ottawa

January 22 – Le Cercle – Quebec City

January 27 – Studio Theatre Maison Des Arts – Laval

January 28 – The Grad Club – Kingston
