
The long list for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize was announced this afternoon from the Drake Hotel Sky Yard in Toronto, hosted, as it is annually, by CBC Radio 3′s Grant Lawrence. Polaris jurors must now select ten albums from the forty to make the first round and the short list finalists will be revealed on July 6. The winner will be selected on September 19 and awarded with the newly increased sum of $30,000 at the annual Polaris Gala.
