Though they’ve been making music for a large audience for twelve years, Austin, TX’s instrumental outfit Explosions in the Sky have just released their first-ever music video.

“Last Known Surroundings,” the lead track from their most recent album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, gets the animation treatment courtesy of Austin design studio Ptarmak. In a Wired exclusive, it’s described as “geometric mapping, pulsating landscapes and deep-space sojourns.” It features illustration from Sissy Emmons and animation from David Hobizal.

The video took, as they often do, a few months to complete, and the band says they have a few more planned for the album as well. You can watch the video above.
