One of the most talked about acts in Canadian music over the past few months, Toronto’s mysterious hipsteR&B act the Weekend has just announced a live show—they’re/his first—at Toronto’s Mod Club later this month, on July 24. The show will be all-ages with a liscensed area.

Notoriously mysterious—the Weeknd doesn’t do interviews—the show’s poster (above) states no guestlist, but the Facebook event page goes even further, stating no media or cameras are allowed either. So will there be a curtain obscuring the Weeknd? Mask(s)? Drake? Is someone just going to hit play on a laptop? Such marketing intrigue!

The Weeknd’s House of Balloons mixtape blew up the internet again a week ago when it was announced as a finalist for the 2011 Polaris Music Prize, the first free-download release to ever make the list. You can download it here, if you haven’t already.
