According to REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin (I don’t know), Dave Grohl may be in the midst of a documentary project on Sound City Studios in California. It’s the studio in which Nirvana recorded Nevermind, and has also hosted such artists as Metallica, Cheap Trick, Pat Benatar, Fleetwood Mac, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty, and yeah, REO Speedwagon, among others.

“Dave is working on this project based on a studio that we all used to work at. I probably shouldn’t be talking about it—Dave will probably announce it. But it’s very cool,” Cronin said in an interview with Artisan News. “I know it means a lot to a lot of artists. So Dave is just kind of putting together something to get the stories that all the artists had about that studio.”

Nothing official has been announced just yet, but if it’s true, it’ll be something to look forward to, seeing as Grohl helped make the excellent Foos documentary Back and Forth. [via Prefix]
