The Luyas have released a beautifully animated video for “Moodslayer,” from their last album Too Beautiful To Work.
From the brains of Derrick Belcham (A Story Told Well/La Blogotheque), the Luyas’ Jessie Stein and Yamantaka//Sonic Titan’s Ruby Kato Attwood, who unite under the moniker of Schtuff, the video was made using hand-made paper animation machines, crystals, and analog light and shadow.
Almost every object in the video is spinning on a record player and were shot on a modified digital camcorder, using cardboard and other coarse papers to make custom apertures. The light was modified through crystals, and it was directed through a live moniter feed during filming. Detailed!
