The Junction, 'Futurists'

The Junction recently trekked to Palm Springs, CA to film the video for their new single “Futurists,” and a little exploring led them to the strange place known as the Salton Sea, about 50 miles outside of Palm Springs.

The Sea was created accidentally when the Colorado River flooded into the area in the early 1900s. Developers tried to make the best of an ecological oopsie, building tourist attractions and selling homes in the once cruel desert, but the sea was only fed by other runoff, and not only was it not sustainable, it became inhospitable.

Most of the town almost instantly disappeared. What remains now is the eerie, post-apocalyptic skeleton of civilization. So, obviously, a stunning music video set.
