Muse were tasked with writing the official song for the London 2012 Summer Olympics, and since they have a new album on the way, why not tackle two birds with a single stone?

While “Survival” was written with the Olympics in mind, Muse says it will also appear on their upcoming album The Second Law, which you might recall comes out on September 18th.

As for the Olympic’s official anthem, the band says the song is about “conviction and pure determination to win.” The track will reportedly be played a whole bunch throughout the games, including at medal ceremonies, but it premiered earlier on the radio so you can get an early taste of a song you’ll no doubt be sick of by the end of the summer.
