Have you heard of RACES yet? Hopefully you have but if not, here’s your intro and AUX’s first post about the band.

Formerly known as Black Jesus, the group formed in the fall of 2009 after singer/songwriter Wade Ryff “escaped the sweaty grips of multiple bands, the San Fernando Valley and a real life witch.” What was planned as being a band for a one-time performance, turned into something quite bigger for these six musicians as they caught the attention of Frenchkiss Records, who signed them and put out their debut LP The Year Of The Witch.

I’ve spent a great amount of time with this record so far this year and although “Big Broom” isn’t the newest of tracks on the blogosphere, its one you should make sure you’ve heard.
