Teenage girls have a peculiar talent for shrieking at a frequency so high it could likely deafen a colony of bats, and a Justin Bieber concert is where the magic happens. An Oregon mother found this out the hard way, and now she’s suing Bieber after what she calls “a sound blast” from screaming girls caused her hearing loss in both ears.

TMZ reports that she’s suing Bieber, his label, the concert’s promoter and the arena, Portland’s Rose Garden arena.

The woman’s suit alleges that Bieber “created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena. Then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion.”

It goes onto say that when Bieber jumped into a heart-shaped gondola and started going over the skies. She says the gondola became a “sound conductor creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both of my ears.”

As a result, she’s saying she can’t sleep due to the constant ringing in her ears. We don’t know how she landed on $9 million (a good pair of earplugs, which many venues hand out to parents at shows like this, costs just a few dollars at most), and we’d assume the damage is incidental and likely covered in the clauses stipulated and noted on her concert ticket, but we’ll update you if this lawsuit goes anywhere.
