One of the reasons why we were waiting for this tape was to find out whether or not A$AP Rocky’s oversized entourage had anything going for them. These dudes had a pretty interesting summer on Rocky’s tab. His loyalty makes sense though—this tape proves they’re worth keeping around.

A$AP Ferg, a stand-out on “Kissin’ Pink” from Rocky’s tape, shows versatility bouncing between his apt sing-song flow on “Persian Wine” and his monotone goon flow on “Work.” This versatility is actually A$AP Mob’s forte. They can sound like they’re from Cleveland, Queens, New Orleans, Houston, and wherever else awesome rap comes from while maintaining their own Harlem swag. Yet, they are each easily differentiated from each other in regards to flow, cadence, and voice. They have the same influences and similar talents but put them together and spit them back out in unique ways.

We’ll eventually figure out each of their nuances as this tape will be on repeat until Rocky’s debut album drops.
