Did the Foo Fighters just call it quits? Probably not. Stop freaking out, people who like Foo Fighters. But they did announce an indefinite hiatus in front of some 60,000 fans this past weekend in New York’s Central Park at the Global Citizen Festival.

They made the announcement before launching into “Learn to Fly,” with frontman Dave Grohl saying, “Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this. This is it, man.”

“Honestly, I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again… and this is the perfect place to do it,” he added.

While modern rock radio will do its best to keep the band’s memory alive throughout the hiatus, Grohl did later promise that they’d eventually be back.

“I don’t know when, but we’ll see you again,” he reportedly said before closing the night out with “Everlong.”
