Now get in the Senate and try and love someone.
Didn’t think the wacky world of U.S. politics couldn’t get any more absurd? Well, hold on to your MAGA hat, ironically purchased or not, because Kid Rock is a legitimate possibility for the Senate.
No stranger to taking political stands, Kid Rock’s name (Robert Ritchie, FYI) was reportedly floated as a possible candidate for the Senate by members of the Michigan Republican party at a convention held last weekend. The seat is currently held by Democrat Debbie Stabenow, but party officials feel now that momentum is now on their side with Trump’s victory, the GOP has a shot at taking her seat during the Michigan Senate election next year. Enter: Kid Rock. (Ed note: phrasing!)
In 2013, Kid Rock told Rolling Stone that he tended to vote Republican, supporting the Presidential candidacies of Mitt Romney in 2012 and Ben Carson in 2016. When Trump won the nomination last year, Kid Rock started selling pro-Trump merch in his online store, including a shirt emblazoned with “God, Guns & Trump.” Hm, I wonder how much of those proceeds he donated to the ACLU.
Well, if Rock makes it in, we can predict at least one strong political stance:
