Made by Toronto filmmakers Summer Love and Jane Michener, Sounds Like A Revolution chronicles the aims and struggles of Michael Franti (Spearhead), Fat Mike (NOFX), Paris, and Justin Sane (Anti-Flag) who campaign against the Iraq War and the far-right Republican agenda.

    nxne-post-iconalgary band Women’s self titled debut album was, according to their label “recorded by label-mate Chad VanGaalen over 4 months on ghettoblasters and old tape machines in his basement, an outdoor culvert and a crawlspace.” Upon first listen, the aforementioned description bears truth as it sounds like you are listening to a cheap cassette tape.

    nxne-post-iconFlocked by Pitchfork as one of the best songs of last year they didn’t really give a chance, PS I Love You’s track “Facelove” essentially broke the Kingston, Ontario band to the world. Featured on a 7” with Diamond Rings’ “All Yr Songs,” the track has pushed the band to release their own 7” entitled Starfield with plans to release a full-length sometime this year.

The band’s dream pop sound has been compared to the likes of Galaxy 500, Spirtualized and Pink Floyd, although the latter is a bit of stretch.
