Dan Mangan plays Tina’s Glorious Comeback for AUX TV

During the Calgary Folk Festival we met up with Dan Mangan, who’s latest album ‘Nice Nice Very Nice’ is up for this year’s Polaris Music Prize. The Vancouver singer/songwriter picked a very nice spot by the river on Prince’s Island to play us ‘Tina’s Glorious Comeback’. Just before this little acoustic performance, Mangan played the same song to a sprawling folk festival crowd on the other side of the island. Some of those fans managed to track him down and hide behind a tent during the video below, breaking their silence to applaud after the song – listen for them and Dan saying “thank you… hello?”, it was one of those impossible to plan but perfect moments that only summer music festivals offer. Watch Mangan deliver charming vocals and impressive whistling skills in this stripped down version of ‘Tina’s Glorious Comeback’ just for AUX TV (and a few lucky fans too).
