If you were tuned into the Canadian indie boom of the mid-2000s, you’re probably already well-acquainted with Montreal’s Wolf Parade, the dynamic four-piece who grabbed the attention of critics and listeners after their triumphant 2005 album, Apologies to Queen Mary. This morning’s new music news; Scottish band The View are readying their third album, Wolf Parade’s Expo 86 disc is currently streaming in its entirety and Clinic will release their sixth album this October called ‘Domino.’

Nope, this ain’t a leak, Sub Pop has posted two new Wolf Parade tracks online for your listening pleasure from the band’s forthcoming album, EXPO 86. The new songs “Yulia” and “Cloud Shadow On The Mountain” are also available for download on iTunes today and the full album will come out June 29th.

Expo 86 was a World’s Fair that took place in Vancouver in 1986 and is the name of Wolf Parade’s forthcoming album due out June 29. Whether the title reminds you of what goes on at such a place or of when Bart Simpson gets a fake driver’s license and takes Millhouse, Nelson and Martin [...]

Although it would seem Wolf Parade has become more of a jumping point for some incredible side projects than a proper band as of late, the group has just booked a few April tour dates across eastern Canada, according to their myspace. They will later head off to the U.K for a few dates in May. Joining Wolf Parade, will be fellow Montrealers We Are Wolves.
