Eric Clapton Planning Several Tours with Old Friends
By Christina Ivanowich
What nicer way to spend the year on tour than by surrounding yourself with old friends and colleagues (hopefully getting wasted and remembering the good old days). That's the mental image conjured by the news that Eric Clapton will be hitting the road next year with at least three different tours. In February, Clapton will play three shows with fellow former Yardbird Jeff Beck (in New York, Toronto and Montreal). At the same time, Clapton will begin his solo tour across the U.S. through March, and will be joined by, among others, The Who's Roger Daltry. Finally, he will join former fellow member of Blind Faith Steve Winwood on a tour of Europe starting in May. So, lots of opportunities to catch some good old fashioned rock guitar next year.
