RIP Jack Rose
Exclaim is reporting that Pelt founding member and acoustic guitar master Jack Rose has
died of a heart attack at the age of 38. Known as a solo artist, a band member, and a
collaborator, Rose experimented with acoustic guitar sounds, fusing traditional genres
like ragtime with contemporary music sensibilities. His compositions have been
compared with those of guitar legends John Fahey and Robbie Basho. His last solo album
will be released posthumously on the Thrill Jockey label, due to drop on February 23.
