Here’s something worth listening of not watching, because while we’re not sure why Aussie band Bareback Titty Squad decided to do it in their underpants, their 30-minute runthrough of Triple J‘s Hottest 100 Songs of 2012 is a pretty impeccable feat, even if it’s pretty clearly been pre-recorded in advance.

Watch as they run through Australia’s most popular songs at an average 18-seconds per clip, diving into songs like “Thrift Shop,” “Born to Die,” “Clique” and more, but be warned: gratuitous crotch shots are littered throughout.

Arctic Monkeys came out of nowhere yesterday with a new song, “R U Mine?” and have already put out a bare bones video for the track. As for the song’s official release, details are scarce, but we’ll assume for now that it’s not a b-side off last year’s Suck It and See.

Metallica released a teaser trailer earlier this month telling fans to “Save the Date” and expect big news today, and sure enough after running a bit late the band popped onto Livestream to announce the Orion Music and More festival, featuring some of the band’s favourite acts, including (and especially) Metallica.

But no, the line-up so far seems pretty incredible and definitely not what most fans would expect. There’s still a full line-up yet to be released, but bands so far scheduled to play include Titus Andronicus, Fucked Up, Lucero, Cage the Elephant, Modest Mouse, Arctic Monkeys and a bunch more. The line-up is expected to round out at 22 bands, and they’ve said that they’ll hope to make it a big success and possibly continue it, maybe even as an annual event.

The festival is naturally set to take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 23rd and 24th of this year. Expect a line-up of comedians to get into the mix (as part of the “more”), and as for Metallica’s contributions, they’ll be headlining both nights, promising to play both The Black Album and Ride the Lightning in full. The LiveStream is now finished, but we’d expect it to be archived sometime soon (so keep your eyes peeled above). Until then head to Orion’s official site for more info.

The Arctic Monkeys are gearing up to release the single for “Black Treacle,” a track from their most recent album Suck It And See, but they’ve gone and released the video for it first.

Directed once again by LA-based filmmakers Focus Creeps and shot in California last year, “Black Treacle” features drummer Matt Helders stumbling his way through the desert, something that’s becoming a regular role for him.

The “Black Treacle” single will be released digitally on January 23 and on 7-inch on February 21. Watch the video above.

The Black Keys are set to release their new album El Camino on Tuesday, and they’ve just announced a whack of tour dates in support of it, once its out, for real, and everyone hears it, which they haven’t already because we don’t do that sort of thing, right music fans?

The tour is taking them to the stages of big ol’ arenas, including Montreal’s Bell Centre on March 13, and Toronto’s Air Canada Centre the next day on March 14.

They’ll be bringing the Arctic Monkeys along with them on the bottom chunk of these dates, meaning that’s who we’ll see as support on the Canadian dates. Check out the full tour schedule below.

Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders stars in the new Arctic Video “Suck It And See,” taken from their most recent album of the same name. Have you heard this song? It sounds different than you’d probably expect with a name like that—all sleepy and swoony and stuff. The video, though, in its raunch and debauch. is a closer representation.

Directed by Focus Creeps, the video is said to be a “inspired by past ‘lost weekends’ in LA.” What that means is drugs and sex and drama, apparently. “From Lennon to Lemmy, the music video for ‘Suck It And See’ imagines: what if a rock and roller were lost altogether and never came back? The video is a behind the scenes fragments of Matt Helders’ outlaw ‘lost weekend’ out in the Wild West.”

The Arctic Monkeys’ new retro-style video for ”The Hellcat Spangled Shalala”, off last month’s Suck It And See, looks like a grainy tour video of a band of the past’s heyday as they travel to sunnier shores. It features live tour footage, fans singing along to the song at shows, and a woman’s silhouette in pumps and a cat suit. “The Hellcat Spangled Shalala” will be released as a single on August 16, and you can watch the video below.

The Monkeys played the month-long iTunes festival last night at the London concert venue, the Roundhouse, and the show is available to watch for a limited time. You can even watch on your iPhone. Check it out here.
