00:00:38:11 Hi guys! It Sarah, and we are gathered here today
00:00:41:05 to take a look at the band Dearly Beloved.
00:00:43:10 Now we will take a look at their Band Foto Band Breakdown.
00:00:49:08 Dearly Beloved formed as a group in 2006, the band consists of
00:00:53:23 Rob Higgings, Damon Richardson, Niva Chow, and Gavin Maguire.
00:00:59:17 Two of their albums are 'You Are The Jaguar'
00:01:02:09 and 'Repo Repo Repo'.
00:01:03:25 In 2009 they came out with an album called
00:01:06:07 They Will Take Up Serpents.
00:01:08:06 Their records are for an audience hungry for something
00:01:10:12 and that isn't pre-packaged.
00:01:12:20 They have three music videos, Manifesto, The Butler Routine,
00:01:16:07 and Candy Coated.
00:01:17:27 These guys and one gal are set to release their album in the US
00:01:21:25 and with their great songs and great personalities,
00:01:24:16 sky is the limit.

00:01:38:22 Well, I am lucky enough to have some really great friends

00:01:48:02 And I was writing some songs and I had really no outlet for them
00:01:53:02 so I created Dearly Beloved to be that outlet
00:01:56:04 and I was lucky enough to have like I said great friends
00:01:59:23 who also happened to be great musicians.
00:02:01:22 And I couldn't imagine calling the band anything else because
00:02:04:26 these people really mean a lot to me
00:02:07:17 and the love is undeniable.

00:04:10:12 about what we do and it comes from our DIY background
00:04:13:11 and the fact that we played in punk bands growing up.
00:04:15:23 So I think that formed our sensibilities
00:04:17:21 but musically we are open to everything.
00:04:19:26 We are going to shoot this... now we are shooting the shot,
00:04:21:17 we are going to have the band standing in front of the church
00:04:23:16 and then we are holding one hand over the eye, it's kind of
00:04:26:10 like see no evil and hear no evil kind of eye band.

00:01:19:24 Well, it started out with...
00:01:21:24 I put a bunch of song ideas together and bring them to Damon
00:01:25:23 and the rest of the band and we catch them out.
00:01:27:15 But I feel like the band is now sort of evolving
00:01:30:00 and after spending a lot of time on the road together
00:01:32:14 and a lot of time in rehearsal room together,
00:01:35:03 a lot of time in the studio together,
00:01:36:27 it's starting to open up.
00:01:38:18 And I think that happens to most bands, you just start to become
00:01:42:01 more of a band oriented and a song writing team.
00:01:45:13 And yes, this... most recent record started as
00:01:48:19 song ideas that I had but more than ever we created them
00:01:52:19 as a group and they wouldn't be what they are if it wasn't
00:01:55:22 for the process that all four of us used to attack them.
00:01:58:17 As musicians I am sure we are all quite proud of
00:02:01:05 still making music.
00:02:02:18 Pretty strange climate to be making music
00:02:05:22 so we count ourselves very fortunate to be working
00:02:08:20 with people that want to work with us
00:02:10:14 and provide us with opportunities to make music
00:02:12:22 and to make albums and do photo shoots
00:02:15:13 and video shoots and all that.
00:02:17:19 So I would like to think we are sort of blessed on that level
00:02:20:29 but I am also proud of the fact that what we do is real,
00:02:25:00 we started as a band in a rehearsal room,
00:02:27:15 we have tored our faces off,
00:02:29:27 we have sort of paid our dues as a band
00:02:32:20 and what we do is genuine,
00:02:35:08 it's an honest extension of my life and these songs are
00:02:38:08 evolving to become honest extensions of our lives together
00:02:41:02 and what we do is genuine and authentic
00:02:44:02 and I am most proud of that.
