00:00:09:03 and find out what everybody is listening to this week
00:00:10:12 and we will begin with Luther.
00:00:12:03 Well I don't know that anybody is to be recommended to anyone,
00:00:15:27 but I am mostly listening to Shania Twain and Billy Joel
00:00:18:25 right now.
00:00:27:18 What are you doing on my show man?
00:00:29:26 Explain yourself, defend yourself.
00:00:32:08 I have come right all the way around,
00:00:34:02 when I first got in music it was Billy Joel,
00:00:36:01 it was this super pop stuff, the Savage Garden,
00:00:38:03 the Moffats, this all stuff that I loved
00:00:40:16 like in my most primitive, formative years
00:00:43:28 and I have come right back around to that
00:00:45:15 and I was at a buddy's wedding on the weekend
00:00:48:09 and he wanted me to play a love song,
00:00:49:10 so I just checking out Shania because she is cheesy,
00:00:51:16 and I was like this stuff is awesome.
00:00:55:05 And can be too there. And we are going on tour.
00:00:58:08 I need to get all of the Billy Joel
00:01:02:00 all of the Shania Twain records for my iPod for this tour.
00:01:05:16 And headphones.
00:01:07:02 Yes.
00:01:08:17 Over the year ones that seal everything inside your head.
00:01:11:25 Well you know what I am done with
00:01:12:28 building my cool resume in my life.
00:01:14:21 I don't care if you guys think it's cool or not,
00:01:17:01 Shania is where it's apt for me.
00:01:19:16 Shania that's crazy, but I like some Billy Joel stuff
00:01:22:11 -so I can't -Peter.
00:01:25:04 I got a couple of Vinyl, Dog Day band I worked with,
00:01:28:12 just released a new vinyl only release
00:01:30:08 which they are very excited about
00:01:32:01 and that's called Live at the Elder School House,
00:01:35:26 recorded at Rick Whites' place in Orangeville.
00:01:39:16 So they are pretty excited about that.
00:01:41:29 My other piece of vinyl is the one that we found in the alley,
00:01:44:13 few weeks back that somebody had thrown out,
00:01:47:12 and it was a James Brown live at the Apollo Theatre Volume 2,
00:01:51:07 I cleaned it up.
00:01:52:15 Didn't even know what I was putting on
00:01:53:26 and just I threw down the side, it's a Man's world,
00:01:59:01 and just about basically the entire party just stopped
00:02:02:02 and couldn't believe this recording, it was unbelievable,
00:02:05:24 and last but not least, I got to get props to my 15-year old
00:02:08:12 who turned me on to this guy called Mayer Hawthorne
00:02:11:06 who is a young guy from Detroit signed to a hip hop label
00:02:15:02 called Stones Throw and he was a DJ
00:02:18:16 and he needed to get some Motown sounds
00:02:22:18 and so he decided he was going to record a couple of
00:02:25:03 Motown songs.
00:02:26:06 This record is unbelievable.
00:02:27:24 I went to see him at the Drake a couple of weeks ago.
00:02:29:20 It was unbelievable. The record sounds like
00:02:32:01 the best Motown record you have ever heard.
00:02:34:22 So Mayer Hawthorne and you will not be disappointed.

00:02:42:00 one the new Hostage Life Center of the Universe,
