00:00:19:08 We never really had that attitude;
00:00:20:19 I hope they will let us get away with this.
00:00:22:08 It was always more or like...
00:00:23:20 this is what we are going to do, if you don't like it,
00:00:25:29 you are going to have to learn to live with it.
00:00:28:19 [Music]
00:00:34:11 I always found that we were a really
00:00:35:16 love and hate kind of band,
00:00:37:00 either they liked us or they really don't.
00:00:38:23 Quite honestly, I wouldn't have it in any other way.
00:00:41:03 [Music]
00:00:45:08 Real city hardcore, right there!
00:00:47:03 Yeah!
00:00:48:13 Psycho!
00:00:53:13 I guess that song is up the interview right there.
00:00:55:25 [Music]
00:00:58:15 Our later shows are great because,
00:01:02:00 what it was to laugh about?
00:01:04:09 I am married.
00:01:05:28 [Music]
00:01:40:28 I think one of the most
00:01:42:05 things that makes the tour important
00:01:44:08 is that it maintains that idea of level of compassion,
00:01:48:29 connection between the audience
00:01:51:01 and what's going on with the band
00:01:52:29 and I think that the tour sets a really important press of it
00:01:56:07 that their level of caring
00:01:58:18 and that level of awareness is still there,
00:02:01:05 I mean everybody is pretty much hurting right now financially,
00:02:05:04 everybody is pretty much upset, without paddle,
00:02:07:26 and I think it's important for everybody to recognize that
00:02:10:23 and I think that one of the great things about the tour
00:02:13:18 is that it does recognize that
00:02:15:11 and it keeps that level of compassion and awareness
00:02:19:22 sort of alive within the particular scene
00:02:22:27 or whatever scene it maybe.
00:02:24:15 For this tour is about hardcore and punk rock community
00:02:28:06 and it doesn't really matter how much
00:02:30:19 you sound like whatever bands,
00:02:32:15 it's that your heart is in the right place
00:02:34:14 and you mean what you are doing and it's important.
00:02:36:26 [Music]
00:03:04:28 You know what motivates me
00:03:06:13 is my complete total lack of common sense,
00:03:10:13 doesn't make a lot of sense what we do
00:03:13:15 and it's fun and it's rewarding in a lot of ways
00:03:16:24 that most people forget are available.
00:03:21:08 It's not financial, it's not gratuitous, it's ego pumping,
00:03:24:24 feeling like you do something
00:03:27:01 that you really care about in the morning,
00:03:28:22 instead of punching time cards in the world.
00:03:30:27 [Music]
00:03:56:18 We have grown musically,
00:03:59:10 not necessarily any better or any worst,
00:04:00:29 but we have grown different musically
00:04:02:23 and we have tried to push the envelope a lot.
00:04:09:06 That being said, I think that every record we have ever made
00:04:12:06 it's been an important one to us
00:04:13:16 and remains an important one to us always.
00:04:15:21 [Music]
00:04:39:12 The writing process for us has one of the most
00:04:41:13 consistent things in our band;
00:04:43:26 and it is always extremely nonchalant.
00:04:48:07 We just get in a room together and just play
00:04:50:17 as often as possible and as much as possible
00:04:53:05 and whatever comes out comes out,
00:04:55:09 it's never really calculated;
00:04:57:10 it's not like so disgust or anything.
00:05:00:16 It's just fly by the seat of our pants and hope for the best.
00:05:04:10 Again there is that lack of common sense coming in.
00:05:07:01 [Music]
00:05:28:14 I mean I am proud of it, so that's all I care about.
00:05:31:05 Hopefully if other people like it, that's awesome,
00:05:34:08 and if they don't at least I know
00:05:36:16 that it failed but it was legitimate,
00:05:41:07 it was something that came from my heart.
00:05:43:08 People just didn't identify with it,
00:05:45:11 as opposed to trying to pander to a certain audience
00:05:48:11 and then failing and knowing that
00:05:50:02 you totally were pandering and it didn't work out.
00:05:53:19 [Music]
00:06:15:24 I think the biggest difference
00:06:16:28 in being on a major label and an independent label
00:06:20:02 at least you kind of know that you can do what you want to do.
00:06:22:03 On a major it's always sort of like,
00:06:24:03 well I really hope they let us get away with this.
00:06:26:08 And that's ultimate why our situation with them ended,
00:06:28:13 because we never really had that attitude...
00:06:31:21 I hope they would let us get away with this.
00:06:33:15 It was always more or like
00:06:34:17 this is what we are going to do
00:06:35:28 if you don't like it, you are going to have to
00:06:37:02 learn to live with it, anyway,
00:06:40:01 and I think with an indie you have a lot more freedom
00:06:42:15 to just do what you want you want to do
00:06:44:29 and to do what you feel means something to you.
00:06:48:08 And I think the most important thing about music is
00:06:51:09 keeping it 100% honest.
00:06:53:18 [Music]
