They’re the brilliant minds behind the casting of Jersey Shore. Currently, they’re recruiting personalities for Tattoo Nightmares, Rehab and Sorority Coach. So, what’s next on Doron Ofir’s casting bucket list? A show called EDM Casting that, according to their website, is the “first electronic dance music reality / competition show.”
The concept shouldn’t come as a surprise. Crossover star Pauly D, who Forbes named one of the world’s top-paid DJs, pulled in an estimated US $11 million last year from Jersey Shore with DJing, the latter of which landed him on 50 Cent’s G-Unit label. And that’s saying nothing of the riches he’ll be earning from his new show, The Pauly D Project, his line of vodka cocktails, or Sexy Swagg, his own tanning lotion.
So, what does it take to become the next Deadmau5? EDM Casting‘s application asks users to brag “about your best assets… physical, material and social,” a breakdown of your traditional day, and “what most people remember about you.” So, if you’re proud about your ability
to casually embarrass yourself behind the decks, then what are you waiting for? Apply right here.
No word on who will be judging the competition as of yet. (Bets, anyone?)
